Advanced Curriculum aka Puppy School!
When puppies are 3-16 days old, we perform ESI (Early Scent Introduction) and ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) on the puppies. This involves introducing a new scent to them every day with a series of gentle handling exercies that expose them to different sensory experiences in their early life to improve neurological development and stress response.
Throughout different stages of their development, we provide the puppies with daily curriculum activities and more advanced different types of daily handling. The curriculum we incorporate into our breeding program was created by Badass Breeder. It was designed to help puppies desensitize to the world around them by challenging/stimulating their senses, enriching their learning, and helping them build confidence/trust. This is done through new obstancles and exposure to new textures, new sights, and new sounds in a very positive controlled way not to overstimulate them. We post photos/videos on social media of the puppies raised on this advanced curriculum. Feel free to check it out!
Puppies are started on potty training between 2.5-3.5 weeks of age, trained how to use the doggy door between 4.5-6 weeks of age, and exposed to different sized crates between 5-8 weeks of age.
These puppies are also introduced to our other dogs in our household, new environments on our property (both inside and outside), and new adults/children (family or close friends that follow our health safety precautions).
This is all very beneficial for their development and we want to ensure they have a successful future with their families especially since they often go to busy households with children and other pets! This is a great time to plan ahead and purchase everything you will need for your puppy at home. We created a Puppy Shopping List for you on items we personally use and recommend! Also check out the Do's and Dont's for your new puppy!
After 6 weeks of age, an AKC microchip is implanted into each puppy. We also cover the lifetime enrollment fee for enrolling the microchips to their new owners. We do not remove dewclaws.
Between 7-8 weeks of age, the puppies will receive a physical examination by our veterinarian and their first round of vaccines. At this age we complete a puppy aptitude test designed by Badass Breeder to evaluate them for certain traits (for ex- tolerance to touch, prey drive, confidence level, energy level, etc). This allows us to learn more about the individual puppy and their evaluation can be used as a tool to help our clients find a puppy that will meet their needs. These evaluations are emailed to our clients before puppy pick day.
During puppy take home day (8 weeks of age), the puppies will be selected by their new owners in order the deposits were received. They will be identified with the last four digits of the implanted microchip.
We prohibit our clients from going to dog stores/dog parks for several weeks before and after picking up their puppy due to potential exposure to Parvovirus (often fatal in puppies that are not fully vaccinated and exposured to it). We also require families to wash their hands prior to handing any puppies and remove their shoes or wear shoe covers when they arrive on our property. These rules are in place to protect the puppies health (no exceptions).

Deposit and limited registration information
Deposits are required to be placed on our waitlist (after your puppy questionnaire gets approved). This will be taken off the balance of your puppy fee. The deposit is $500 and non-refundable.
After every litter is born (7-14 days post delivery), we will contact those starting at the top of the waitlist if they are ready to lock in their puppy spot for a Golden Retriever puppy. They will have 24 hours to respond back once a puppy spot is offered. If they want to pass on this litter, we will only contact them once more after the next litter is born.
Our waitlist for a future Golden Retriever puppy is currently closed, but you are welcome to reach out and ask us about our current rates for a puppy. The deposit will be subtracted from the total purchase price. Read below to learn why we charge these rates! Due to increases in veterinary costs and running a business, we may need to raise our rates in the future in order to maintain our breeding program standards.
Limited registration is designed for people looking for a family pet and have no intention of breeding their dog. We will require all owners to spay/neuter their dog between 18- 26 months of age for health reasons then send verification of that back to the breeder (in puppy contract). You can register your puppy through AKC (American Kennel Club) on limited registration but that same dog cannot produce offspring since they wont be eligible for registration.
A dog that is registered with limited rights is not prevented from providing therapy services or entering in events such as, obedience, rally, agility, tracking, field trials, hunting tests, herding, etc.

Why do we charge these rates for a puppy?
Breeding involves a lot more financial responsibility, time, and devotion to the breed than most people realize (it's actually a full time job!).
In addition to all the fees required for health testing, high quality/premium dog food that is imported from Italy, ongoing breeding education, dog training, whelping supplies, expenses related to fencing, kennels, and play areas, supplies needed for Badass Breeder puppy curriculum activities and puppy evaluations, cameras/security systems, nutritional supplements, unexpected veterinary expenses (for example a c-section can cost us 3-4 thousand dollars), and routine care of each dog, we also invest in a veterinarian that specializes in reproduction (called a Theriogenologist). They follow up on all of our dogs care pre/post whelping (giving birth), they perform more specialized tests (for example, progesterone testing, pregnancy ultrasound, pre whelp x-ray, semen analysis, etc), and they help monitor our dogs individual dietary needs.
Our routine veterinarian performs head to toe assessments and administers vaccines on all of our puppies prior to going to their new homes. They perform yearly annual exams, fecal tests, preventative care, and blood work on all of our adult dogs. We also spend over $5,000 every year to have good health insurance for all of our adult dogs. We feel that preventative care is extremely important for each of our dogs health and wellbeing, especially when they are producing offspring.
Remember when you purchase a puppy, it is a 10 to 15 year commitment! Our dogs are very special to us, therefore we naturally want to go above and beyond in order to ensure they produce healthy, well rounded puppies for our clients.
Outside of raising puppies, we also provide additional services to our clients. They include weekly updates after clients accept a spot on a litter, educational resources, photos and videos of their pupppies posted on social media from birth until go home day, one free month of health insurance, discounts to dog training memberships and in person training sessions, detailed instructions how to help socialize a puppy safely, detailed instructions how to help a puppy adjust to their new home, puppy evaluations from puppy aptitude test, notifications when our dog is confirmed pregnant and when we start to call down the waitlist.
Communication and education is very important to us as we help families prepare for their puppy at home. Therefore, we enjoy taking the time to update our clients personally and share information that will help them have a successful adddition to their family.
